A percussionist and singer hailing from Bobo Dioulasso, Yé Lassina Coulibaly is a flag-bearer of Burkinabé culture yet tuned to the world, which inspires him as a composer and songwriter. Curious and attentive to contemporary music forms, he reinvents African music through daring enterprises with Western musicians. His research aims at creating music that exploits all the melodic possibilities of traditional West African instruments. He shares his time between France and Africa, where he works with the best instrumentalists to be found in Mali and Burkina Faso. This anthology in two CDs gives an idea of the richness and diversity of his artistic course.
