Pierre's instrumentals continue to astonish us with their virtuosic, melodic, and unique musical vocabulary. His inspired songs, too (most with lyrics by his wife, Doatea Cornu Bensusan, who also co-produces) : "La Java du Concessionaire" tells the story of a car breakdown, with music from his ‘Paris Musette’ heritage. Then a song dedicated to the Algerian writer, Djemila Benhabib, a brave advocate of Arabic women’s rights - with the female Malian griot singer Mah Damba, and French Canadian Claudette Deslonchamps joining Pierre; and “The In Between”, a love song in English, with lyrics by Nina Swan, a Los Angeles friend and former backing vocalist for many international acts.
