In this concert recording from 2002 we present sarod maestro Ustad Amjad Ali Khan performing two ragas traditionally associated with the rainy season. First a full alaap in Raga Miyan Ki Malhar, followed by compositions in Raga Desh. The Miyan Ki Malhar includes a rarely performed tar paran section where Fateh Singh Gangani accompanies on pakhawaj. The Desh includes solos and accompaniment from both Fateh Singh Gangani and tabla player Rashid Mustafa.

The booklet for this album includes a full performance analysis by Dr. Neil Sorrell. This performance is also available on DVD (NRDVD014 & NRDVD514).
