Saracenia presents in twelve tracks the musical itinerary that LA MORESCA has started from the first approaches to the folk music of Naples to the more contemporary researches of the Mediterranean sounds.
In this CD the blend of styles and sounds give us the possibility to move along the Mediterranean shores on crossing paths, different directions, changing moods. The flesh of the tammurriata lives along with the holy religious songs; the feast of the instrumental tunes are mixed with the social and political meanings of some of the texts; love songs inspired by Balkan, Middle East or Andalusia stories and colors.It is timeless music where the echoes of the past and tradition live again in contemporary and futuristic form and dimension.
Saracenia is the land, real and fantastic at the same time that the seaman looks for remembering all what he has left behind him.
The group LA MORESCA was founded in December 1990, open project, which would involve mixing traditional stylistic elements of the popular music genres of southern Italy and the islands with canons of the cultured kind but embellished with sounds and influences from various cultures and countries of the Mediterranean basin.
