This is the sixth CD collaboration on the Whirlie label by fiddle master Aly Bain and accordion whiz Phil Cunningham. The title of the CD, Five And Twenty, reflects their 'silver jubilee' - 25 years touring together. Phil and Aly have travelled all over the world and are superb ambassadors for Scotland and traditional music.
Aly Bain is Scotland's supreme traditional-style fiddler. His playing is unique - driving, impassioned and pure - with vibrant, unmistakable tone that has earned him a following of ardent fans throughout the world. He has received many honours for his services to music, including four Doctorates, an MBE and numerous Honorary Citizenships in the USA.
Ex-Silly Wizard multi-instrumentalist and winner of countless music awards, Phil Cunningham is an ingenious musician. He combines performing with an inpressive range of other creative work as a recording producer, composer, and television and radio presenter. He is also an MBE!

"Simply the best traditional musicians you are ever likely to hear." Mike Russell, The Glasgow Herald.
