OMI E PAIZ (Men and Villages), sixth recording by TRE MARTELLI, continues the musical path that the band started many years ago: an acoustic instrumentation mixed with an intense research of the timbre and stylistic richness toward new solutions in the arrangements and the atmospheres of their music.

The repertoire presents songs and tunes form the large folk heritage of their homeland, the Piedmont region in Northern Italy: dances as branco, monferrina, curenta, burea and songs based on stories of love and wars, men and villages with new compositions deeply rooted in the folk culture.

The main difference from the previous CD, Bruzè e Carvè (TM 005) of 1991, is represented by the two new members of the group that brought to the band new ethno-musicological information and a mare various spectrum of sounds and timbers.

Founded in 1977 TRE MARTELLI have deeply studied the music and the roots of the culture of their region. The accuracy of their work on the various versions of the composition depending from the specific geographical areas together with the strong presence on the stage gained to TRE MARTELLI  a great success from the public and the media. Through the years the band has played concerts and tours all over Europe (especially Great Britain, Spain, Germany, France and Switzerland).

«Italian TRE MARTELLI are a real joy to hear  ... and the vocal duets of Vincenzo “Ciacio” Marcehlli and Bernadette Dalt were an absolute delight» (Folk Roots)

«TRE MARTELLI have a wonderful directness about them ... This is good, straight, enjoyable no frills music played right from the heart, the way they feel it» (Taplas)
