Deep Dead Blue has been one of Anúna’s most critically acclaimed and successful albums to date. Released in the UK in late 1999, it went to number three in the Classical Charts there, and was nominated for a Classical Brit Award. The album has never been released in the USA. This new edition, entirely remastered and remixed with new vocals, was completed in December 2004. "Deep Dead Blue" features extraordinary performances from Anúna. The title track was written by Bill Frisell and Elvis Costello for the Meltdown Festival in London, at which Anúna also performed with Elvis. There is an other-worldly coolness to the music which showcases the purity of the singer’s voices, and the huge range of material easily allows this release to fall into the Celtic, Christian, World, Classical and New Age genres with ease.-----------------“This is beautiful, beautiful music and deserves the widest audience.” Hot Press--------------“Ethereal, spacious, warm-hearted, complex in their harmonic structures yet never showing a stitch in the great weave, Anúna always have something interesting to sing.” The RTE Guide----------------“…if you like your music simple and cool as an Irish mountain stream then this is definitely for you” Classic FM Magazine, U.K.
