Seven horns. Two percussions. Rocksteady, Balkan, Swing. A true marching band that combines the energy of the street groups with the sound of the big bands of the Thirties. BANDAKADABRA has always been an intense live band: they are used to perform live, they did a large amount of concerts and the reaction of the audience is now an integral part of their music. In this new CD. The repertoire changed. Two tracks with vocal Jump, Jive an Wail by Louis Prima (particularly appropriate for an Italian singer!) and an "ironic" version of With a Little Help from my Friends. a completely original tune Sushi Candy. The original sound heavily influenced by Eastern Europe brass bands (the old trademark of the group ) e peeps out only in My Crash, a tune quoting the popular hit by Propellerheads, mixed with Balkan rhythms and colours. The album travels from the atmospheres of Latin American music, swing and rock-steady. And then, the enthusiasm. The enthusiasm of those who continue to think that a band to exist must first of all play live.

It Usually works like this. A band enters the studio, does a recording, then leaves for a tour. BANDAKADABRA, since years, does exactly the opposite. First they go on tour and then, when they think the songs are ready, they record them. At this point, however, they inevitably begin to miss the audience. After all, BANDAKADABRA has always been an intense live band: they are used to perform live, they did a large amount of concerts and the reaction of the audience is now an integral part of their music. Compared to Entomology vol.I (Felmay 2015), the overall sound of the group has changed, with the same line-up: seven brasses, three saxes, a snare drum and a bass drum. Added to these sounds are the thousands of kms made by van, the many people met around Europe over the past few years. And then, the enthusiasm. The enthusiasm of those who continue to think that a band to exist must first of all play live. It seems a trivial statement but to think so, perhaps, nowadays it is not so normal anymore.

Born in Turin (Northern Italy), BANDAKADABRA boasts a frenetic live activity that led to perform both in Italy and in the rest of Europe earning a growing attention from listeners and media especially thanks to a successful combination of music and cabaret, and the ability to propose shows able to conquer any type of audience. Over the years, BANDAKADABRA had the opportunity to dialogue as a backing band and to divide the stage with artists from different genres: Vinicio Capossela (Quando la banda passò 2015), poet Guido Catalano, Samuel (Subsonica) - Tourin Turin, 2017); Their song Dove Scappi has been inc luded in the soundtrack of the Marco Ponti’ smovie Una Vita Spericolata (2018).
From the Edinburgh Jazz & Blues Festival to Chalon Dans Les Rrues, from Jazz Sous Le Pommiers to Udine Jazz and Tenco Prize, in the last four years BANDAKADABRA has performed hundreds of times throughout Europe, including musical events, theatres and officials street shows as marching band establishing itself as a unique artistic reality of its genre.
