This CD, presented last October with a New York concert during the Chant Records festival, co-producer of the CD, is the result of Turra’s thirty solo guitar concert tours, promoting his previous album Filmworks (Felmay 2017).

This CD, presented last October with a New York concert during the Chant Records festival, co-producer of the CD, is new solo work (his fifth) by ALBERTO N.A.TURRA, a live album conceived during the successful promotional Filmworks tour.

Over the years, TURRA has been involved in various live recordings, such as BLUMENKRANZ-TURRA-MARSELLA-QUAGLIARELLA (Spiritsongs), GIOVANNI VENOSTA & SONATA ISLANDS (Nippon Eldorado Kabarett) and MAMUD BAND (Dynamite On Stage). In this album - his first live solo experience - Alberto displays his great improvisational, technical and poetic skills.

Felmay thought it would be appropriate to leave a testimony of this experience.

You can hear original songs and compositions from Turra's repertoire, as well as covers of songs from the American soul repertoire, echoes of free-bop, free-rock, Marc Ribot, and Frisellian divagations, fostering a lyricism that spans Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jim Hall, Pete Cosey, Vernon Reid and Jeff Lee Johnson.

The support of the talented bass player RICCARDO BARBERA heightens the communicative force in two songs.

ALBERTO N.A. TURRA, guitarist, composer and arranger, has been active in the Italian music scene for over ten years. He has spent many years playing guitar onstage in a wide range of projects (Shanir Blumenkranz, Roy Paci-Corleone, Pierpaolo Capovilla, Giovanni Venosta, Diego Mancino, just to name a few), and composing for theater and contemporary dance.
The last few years have been very prolific for TURRA, especially with regard to motion picture music, such as the documentary by Francesco Fei Giovanni Segantini: Return to Nature, played by Filippo Timi, and The Origins Of Music by Mexican filmmakers Daniel Arvizu and Sam Madrigal. Felmay has developed an intense and ongoing relationship with Alberto TURRA, taking part in various projects (Mamud Band, Giovanni Venosta, TurboGolfer, Filmworks (Felmay 2017), an anthology of Turra’s significant original compositions commissioned for movie soundtracks.
