MALICANTI, a traditional Apulian music group, is focused on two specific areas of their region: Salento and Gargano.
The repertoire - basically popular music songs and tunes such as tarantelle, pizziche, serenades, songs a la stisa - have been learned through direct teaching by old traditional players and singers in a relationship which allowed intense and deep exchanges.
This CD celebrates some of these old masters and new performers and has been realized with recordings made at home or during traditional festivals. Tarantelle e Canti tradizionali delle Puglie Vol.2 follows Vol.1 (Finisterre, 2004) with different repertoire, friends and guests.
