After years of close collaboration on the international scene, Alessandro Collina, Marc Peillon e Rodolfo Cervetto decided to pay homage to Michel “Makous” Petrucciani’s musical compositions. It is a strongly shared project, born to highlight the composer’s melodic sensibility, too often in the background when compared to his technical virtuosity and the vicissitudes of his life. These three musicians deemed the trumpet of Fabrizio Bosso, with whom they have collaborated for several years, perfect to interpret and to valorize the extraordinary beauty of Petrucciani’s compositions. This warm sound, full of pathos and never to be taken for granted, enriched by Fabrizio’s wonderful and rare improvising technique blends perfectly with the trio’s sound. Besides Makous’s pieces in the CD, there are two of the standards most loved by the French composer.
