Liguriani - Suoni dai Mondi Liguri
LIGURIANI present a show in which, words and sounds, evoke images and sentiments of culture and history of Liguria. Setting out right from the lantern of Genoa, place of departure and longed return, representing "home" for Ligurian people, for an imaginary journey that takes us through Liguria old snapshots revealing customs, traditions and themes of this people, squeezed between steep mountains and the sea waves, a rude character land yet always open to get in contact with other people, visited or come to visit right from across the sea. The LIGURIANI repertoire is therefore varied and diverse, just as the souls that influence it, starting from our land it comes to places where Ligurian emigrants have settled. The rigorously Ligurian melodies are proposed along with other types of tradition-bound areas compositions, such as melancholic mazurkas and the lively monferrine of Piedmont, or the languid waltz of places culturally related to Liguria like France.
